How people always think being thin is a good thing...but you have a point there.

...on the topic of weight, according to this website, I'm underweight. e_e I'm 5"1 and 90 pounds. I think that's perfectly normal, but apparently it isn't...? Okay. That's weird.

EDIT: Never mind, did one for teens. I'm normal. XD

60 pounds?!

It's not, actually. This matter was about their physical health more than their psychological health and not at all about how we should treat them. If you look fat and not too severely overweight, it's completely fine.

No, wait, she's like sixty seven. Point is, she's scary.

AND SHE'S GOT THE THINNEST LEGS EVER *creys* I have, like, really jiggly calves. *shakes calves*

and she eats like twice what I do. Including the junk food I eat.

That would make her BMI 9.6 Anything under 18.5 is underweight.

...I think you're exaggerating.

It is a good thing, as long as you stay healthy.

I don't understand how anyone can say that they accept people's body weight if they don't pay attention to the other half of the spectrum.

Jesse 08-08-2013 09:43 AM

You don't need to address it if you think it'd make her uncomfortable, just let her know that you're always willing to help and that you'll accept her.

I feel really self conscious about my body, and I try to wear baggy clothing to hide it. I'm afraid that if I tell people how much I weigh that they'll laugh at me and say I'm fat. I think I should go on an extreme diet.

M'kay, time to look here, honey, 'cause I've got some experience in this particular situation.

First of all, if you're truly 5'10", you're extremely tall for your age. I'm fourteen and 5'7", one of the tallest girls in my grade. You might wanna remeasure yourself before making proper judgement on if your weight, because the taller you are, the heaver you're going to be. The average weight for twelve-year-old girls is about 100 lbs., but the average height is about 5'1 1/2". Therefore, you're not going to weigh the same amount as the average girl. It's just natural.
(Also, taller girls are naturally stronger than those of average height, so if you've got muscle, you're gonna weigh more as well. Muscle weighs more than fat.)

Second of all, if you're self-conscious about your body, you want to wear just the opposite of baggy clothes. If you wear sweatpants and tees two sizes too big all the time, you're going to feel lazier, feel like you could eat more. That's exactly what you don't want to feel. You wanna get clothes that fit correctly to your body shape and make you feel as fabulous as you look. It's a pain shopping for them, I know, and can feel embarrassing, but it's worth it. Once you've got a wardrobe of nicely-fitting shirts and cute pants you love, you won't feel so sour about getting up in the morning and picking our your outfit. Don't be too judgmental on yourself trying on clothes, but don't warp your reflection just because you want something to fit. It's best to get another person's opinion on it as well as your own, judging them both equally before reaching a verdict. Picking our clothes you like is a challenge, but don't pick out ones that make you feel less than you want to. That's just a drag.

Third of all, don't starve yourself. Don't. But don't gorge yourself, either. Eat only when you're hungry, and don't stuff yourself full when you are. If your parents call you to dinner and your stomach doesn't feel empty, explain to them that you only want to eat when you're hungry so you can lose weight. Hopefully, they go for it. Try to stick to healthier foods, but don't let yourself become a vegetarian if it's absolute torture to you. Do what feels best to you, even if you really really really want that last cupcake.

Fourth of all, try to get out and exercise. Yeah, you'll get all sweaty and tired, but it will help you sleep, get you hungry, and make you feel a hell of a lot better than just sitting around all day.

(haha i am such a hypocrite at the moment ;-; )

Fifth of all, don't get so down on yourself. Looking in the mirror and calling yourself ugly ain't gonna make you lose weight. Trying to skin the extra fat from your forearm with a razor won't do you any good. Hating yourself won't make you love yourself. Accept that you've got weight issues and try to do something about it. If people call you fat, yeah, it's gonna hurt, but you can't just go through life terrified they're gonna pick on you. It may be the toughest thing in the world, but you can at least attempt to pack up all those little worries and throw 'em out the window. Be what you're gonna be and don't let anyone fuck with you, 'cause no matter how gross you feel, there's always gonna be some way you can pick yourself up off the ground, whether it's with someone else's help or you just being your own hero. You're gonna have moments where you're stuck, but if you can unstick yourself and take care of yourself, life's gonna be a hell of a lot smoother. Don't let little things like weight get you down, 'cause that's just fucking stupid. You're fucking fantastic if you think you're fucking fantastic. \o/

Very true.

Troye Sivan (a youtuber) uploaded a video yesterday revealing he is gay. It really got me thinking. Why is gay marriage a problem in the first place? How did it start? Did someone just say that they were attracted to their own sex and then people thought it was so wrong and disgusting they made a name for it? I just don't understand why it's an issue in the first place. Gay marriage is just marriage. You should still cry of happiness at their wedding even if it's two men or two women. Love is love. It has no gender.
His video not only got me thinking but made me weep. The first time I saw it I smiled, the second I got teary, the third there was tears running down my face. He is so brave for coming out and telling the whole internet who he is. I then watched his "We're my OTP" video for about the 50th time and cried at it for the first time. It is just so beautiful.
