ok so basically all my teachers pronounced my effing last name wrong even though i told them to not even try saying it. the other kids thought it was hilarious and they kept on calling me by just my last name. and then i come home and my mom says i need to be a "good little indian girl" and actually like boring stuff like science and math which im apparently good at but i still hate. and she also wants me to like disgusting indian food and wear earrings like i'm supposed to even though i can't wear earrings because of track and swimming and PE and she makes me eat so much disgusting rice that it's a wonder i'm not morbidly obese. and i'm expected to believe in hinduism, which i just can't do. i don't have a religion. i just hate it when people make assumptions about me based on my race.

Ugh, I'm so sorry. :( Kids are downright vicious in a lot of schools. ._. They'll lose interest quicker if you try not to let it show that it bothers you. I'm sorry you're having trouble getting into the same cultural things your mother was raised around. I do understand not wanting to believe in Hinduism, though. You shouldn't inherit a belief and be expected to believe something just because that's what your people believe. You need to make the choice to believe what makes sense to you, and what has been proven to be true. Do you believe in God at all, may I ask?

I really do hope things get better for you. I'm glad you're good at those subjects, even if you hate them. <:^) I don't know about you, but I really don't like History. But it makes everything much easier if I try to look at it like a story--certain famous people or countries are the antagonists and the protagonists, there's always a conflict, and some kind of resolution.

i can't sit still for longer than 15 minutes, and my experience with math involves lots of sitting still, so that's why i hate it so much. my parents signed me up for this extra math class on weekends and it's supposed to be an hour long but the teacher ALWAYS goes overtime by at least a half hour, which is why i call it the torture chamber.
what's really weird is that my school has lots of "minority" kids, but everyone who isn't one of them makes fun of us. especially me.

No, no, don't worry. I respect your right to choose what you believe. ^_^ Mind if I ask if there's a specific reason why you don't believe in God? Just curious. I, personally, look to the world of plants and animals. I can't believe it all came about by chance. But, like I said, I respect the beliefs of others, even if they're in conflict with mine.

Ah, I see. :^/ If it makes you feel any better, I despise Math. Specifically Algebra. I'm an A student in every single subject EXCEPT Algebra, and that drives me crazy. It's torture for me, too.

You know, within the next decade, Caucasians will become a minority group in America, according to the US Census Bureau. ^_^ Soooo, yeah. That should put things in perspective for a LOT of people.

So later I'm going to my cousin's birthday party and She invited her whole soft ball team and their families. If I remember correctly, this one chick in my grade's big sister is on her soft ball team so they might be there. The girl that's in my grade in the family is a huge bitch and she made fun of me in 4th grade because I was so quiet and didn't smile much. I'm worried she's gonna be there. In some ways I would crap a castle if she's there and in some ways I would kind of enjoy it. I would be pissed because I love my family more than anything and I love these little get togethers we have and I don't want her to ruin this one for me. But on the other hand, I would love to see the look on her face when she realizes that I have a life and that I am such a happy person. I don't even know anymore. Their is a chance she'll be there but I don't know.
You don't know how many times I've wanted to stand up to this girl but just couldn't bring myself to do it.

Yeah, I think writers and maths don't go together. I can relate to that a loot. My report cards each year are usually fine, except for maths and science which just dip... a lot.

About the whole philosophy/theology thing here, I always believed in God when I was younger, mainly because I was told to. It was what was expected. But then in the past few years, I've totally turned around the opposite way, no belief, etc. And now, I don't really know at all. It's weird. :P

That's crappy. I can't help, I'm awful for standing up for myself, but I wish you the best of luck in how it turns out.

I'm too awkward to approach my friend in real life with more than an 'are you okay' because I haven't been friends with her for a long time. We've conversed quite a bit on Facebook in the comments and we get along well but the first time I talked to her in real life was...two days ago. I think she's convinced that she's getting shit because of her ethnicity...I don't know about that because she's a whole grade above me and obviously not in my class. She's always seemed kind of strong, always finishing off ranting posts on Facebook with a dash of humour, but today something happened at lunch and she was standing and looking away from us at the table and facing her phone. She posted a very serious rant on Facebook about wanting a friend today and she said she's lost her appetite and that she hasn't touched her lunch (I'd assumed that she'd eaten something while we were in that long queue). I don't know what I can do to help.
