I don't have a religion. I don't believe in any of that. I do believe that something happens after you die, that you go someplace else, because all your energy, thoughts, and ideas-it's impossible for them to go into nonbeing. Something has to happen after.
About reincarnation: If the Earth dies out, you may be reincarnated to other planets, or parallel universes. There must be planets in other solar sysytems that sustain life, like Earth does. And yes, according to the laws of Hinduism, you forget your whole past life and restart from the beginning. As a child, a bird, a dog, whatever.

You can eventually remember if you are enlightened. But I'm starting to not believe that as much. We certainly don't cease to be. I'm guessing there's some kind of judgement that determines our fate. And I believe in karma. I've had some experiences with it.

wow. side question: I thought that karma was supposed to be results of good/bad stuff from past lives. If you don't remember your past lives, how can you experience karma?

It can also effect right then, or not too much later. What goes around comes around. Ex: If I stole a book, than maybe a year later my pants will fall down while running a marathon or something. Example.
