I don't know. It's crazily easy to hide them for me, but that's because we don't have to change socks in PE and I can pull up my school socks to hide them (at the back of my leg). And they've faded somewhat.

Since Mom wasn't home I decided to ask Dad if I could try out for the dance team next year....

He pretty much told me he didn't like cheerleaders or dancers and told me he wouldn't support me.

So I went and cried in the shower for an hour and now I know what I'm going to say. This is how the convo in my head is:

Me: *walks into living room*
Dad: So are you mad at me now?
Me: Nope. Because I AM trying out for the dance team. I'm 110% dedicated and I'm not going down without a fight. Everytime I come out of my bedroom all sweaty, it's because I'm working out and trying to get fit for dance. When I go to down to the basement to run, it's so I can beat the 10 minute mile we have to do if we want to be on the team. Every free gym class I'm on either on the wall doing a backbend or on the mat doing front and back rolls. You sit and watch me do pirouette's and doubles in the living room every night, too. I don't want to get out of highschool and been like, "What if I had tried out for something new my highschool years?" And if I was a parent, I wouldn't want to be the one holding back their kid from doing what makes them truly happy.
Dad: *le stunned face*

Now I just need the courage to say this to his face. :(

You are right to try out for what you want. He's your parent, it's his role as your guardian to support you in your choices, whether it's sport or dance or whatever. If you've worked so hard for this, who is he to tell you not to?
