so it uh.. kind of just happened. and things are happening. my dads an asshole about it, we havent actully spoken properly since the school called him. one of my friends is sad too and is it wrong of me to not want to have to deal with it? is it wrong of me to need time to myself?

it's not wrong at all. i have wondered the same thing but the truth of the matter is that you can't help someone without helping yourself first. do what you have to do and take some time for yourself and deal with it when you're ready c:
i hope things get better for you <3

I honestly think I need therapy or some shit, probably, but honestly I don't have the kind of time or energy to bother going to a psychiatrist rn or ever so I guess I'll just... spiral off and go down the slippery slope until it becomes dire...

hey if you think you need therapy, trying and seeing how it works would be the first step. i started therapy around one and a half months ago and im not taking meds yet, we're just talking through it and trying to understand and it actually does help to know where everything is coming from. i go like once a week for an hour so i still have time for other things.
basically what im saying is that if you think it'll get worse and you'll spiral down then i don't think it's safe to leave it up to fate, you are the first priority
if the talking to a psychologist doesn't seem to be working, although it might take a while, then possibly see a psychiatrist and understand more of what's causing it itself rather than how you're doing. im planning on doing that too, just to see what's going on with me, but id say just waiting on that a bit.
but yeah definitely follow your instinct if you think so. bottling it up never helps in the long run, and doing that to yourself isn't the best method of coping.
of course, i don't know exactly what's going on, so im not going to force you or try to convince you if you're adamantly against it,but this is just my two cents. i hope you feel better some way or the other c:

i feel this so much. literally.
distractions may help. do something you like to get your mind off the feeling? if you want you can email to talk abt random things, that always helps. with the alone part anyway, the rest will likely fade over time and im sorry you're feeling this way :c /hug/

bleh okay.

so basically I've been really numb and kind of apathetic for the last like month and cutting pretty much makes it just more numb which is kind of nice and honestly I'm terrified people will find out because let's list them off shall we:

L: will freak tf out and tell me to stop and try to be inspirational and shit
J: told me he doesn't want to hear about it and asks me about it anyway so idk what he's going to do but it's not good for him
The school priest: Is going to try to help and end up just giving me the opportunity to disappoint more people
parents: YOU LITERALLY JUST GOT OUT OF THERAPY NOW IT'S TIME TO GET YO ASS BACK IN YAYAY

I just don't want to get people involved because I know that when I inevitably do hurt myself I'll just let down more people and they'll keep trying to help but tbh I don't think anything is going to stop it until I run out of room on my body and at the rate I'm going that's not a far off possibility

Esther, listen to me. Instead of cutting or hurting yourself, how about this: Put an ice cube in your hand and let it melt. It works. Please try it, okay? <3

hey hey you don't owe it to anyone else to stop - you owe it to yourself. there are tons of alternatives you can try. find one that works for you. my personal favorite is doodling on the places i'd like to cut with pen, but i know other people like ice or cold showers or ripping paper or anything.
you've got this. you have the ability to get better and i believe in you. you're not disappointing when you have a relapse. we all get them. it's okay. but you still have to pick yourself back up because you're worth it. you're so completely worth it and just know that i support you no matter how you're doing at whatever point in time.
sending loads of positive thoughts your way <3

Yeah, it's part of most Christian doctrine, I think, but not all. The Catholic catechism (which I need to read more of, eh) says that the homosexual lifestyle is a sin, but the fact they're attracted to others of the same sex is not their fault and they must be treated with respect and love.

It says somewhere if you discriminate unfairly against homosexuals, you're being a baaaad Caaaaatholic.

I guess the point is that there's a fine line between defending doctrine and trying to put down the homosexuals in the world. And that yes, it does say somewhere homosexual actions are sins, but you can't help being attracted to people. About as much as you can help that you're a teenager with acne, and is acne a sin, or the potential to have acne? I THINK NOT.

So if a Catholic somewhere is saying that anyone attracted to the same sex is going to hell, you have your Christ-sister's permission to whack them over the head with the catechism, because people don't go to hell for sudden inexplicable desires. They have sins on their souls when they entertain those desires and do what they tell your body to do.

I'm pretty sure your particular denomination is a little more lax about these things, though. Just out of curiosity, which are you? You too, Madie, I'm really curious.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by denomination, but we're not lax. At all. Our final authority is the Bible, the head of our church Jesus Christ. But we don't judge people. That's God's job. We don't discriminate people. We accept them. Gays are welcome in our church. Heck, my own uncle's gay, and my grandpa and grandma are the pastor/his wife. They have a gay son. We are in no way against gays, but we are against homosexuality.

I feel like standing up in acquiescence as you say this. Pretty much only two words need to be added to this to fit my belief system too, which is that tradition also is authority as well as the Bible. It's so sad that we're divided.

So you're nondenominational; you're not Baptist or Methodist or Presbyterian, you're just Christian. Am I right? I've always thought that nondenominational is most like the early church.

I believe I can safely say that if your church's stance on this was echoed throughout the Christian world, Westboro wouldn't be taken as the example of Christian thought on it. Many kind voices would drown it.

I know this is somewhat off topic, but while I can't claim kinship with anybody who's gay, my family echoes yours in that my grandpa is a deacon.

Fascinating.

It says a lot of stuff people completely ignore. It's funny how people pick and choose what they want from the bible. Also that's part of the old testament law, which Jesus multiple times said wasn't totally right. The bible says way more about divorce/remarriage than about homosexuality, and yet no one gathers in crowds to protest divorce.

^This is an opinion I totally respect and am chill with. Even if I don't agree with the Catholic interpretation of the bible, I'm fine with whoever does, as long as judgement and intolerance don't come into it. And from what I can gather from this comment, they don't. /high five/ chill man.

And I'm Orthodox Christian, which is pretty strict about no gay marriage and no premarital sex and all that, but is probably one of the least judgmental churches out there. I don't actually agree with some of the things they teach, and I'm considering other denominations when I move out. I kind of live by my own interpretation of God and the bible, which mainly involves everyone being cool with each others opinions and lifestyles.

(I think she was talking to me when she said the thing about lax denominations but I could be wrong) oh and the whole not judging thing is totally awesome. the part where I get scared is when you say you're against homosexuality. That could mean a WHOLE LOT of things, from "I don't approve of your lifestyle but hey, I'm not one to judge so do what you feel is right" to "bitch it's hot where ur going".

I'm going to clarify this, because I think there may be some confusion. Homosexuality is not the same as gay sex/gay marriage. It's a way someone is, and what they identify as. A lot of people are gay, but also unmarried virgins. Does that still make them sinful? To my knowledge the bible only says things about gay sex, not gay-ness as a whole. You can be un-chill with gay sex and gay marriage and whatever as much as you want. It's your opinion, and you are welcome to it. It's when you disapprove of the way someone is that it's a problem. I'm assuming you disagree with the theory/fact that people can't control their sexual orientation, but even so, it's not your place to pass judgment on the way someone is or the lifestyle they abide by. So you don't approve of premarital sex? Great. So you don't approve of gay marriage? Sure. So you don't approve of crazy bra burning feminist lesbians? That's fine by me. I totally get disapproving of things that gay people do, but as gracithe1andonly (sorry idk your actual name) said, there's no reason for you to hate the way someone is. Being gay isn't a lifestyle. It's just an identification. I hope this cleared some stuff up.

The Bible doesn't actually say anything about gay marriage. It's all misinterpreted by homophobes in the 80s trying to find a reason to marginalize gays. The Church is against it, the Bible says nothing.
