Hm...play video games, board games, go on a YouTube music spree, get her to ramble about something that happened to her (i.e. funniest/weirdest thing that's happen in the past year, her favorite new movie, etc.), discuss/debate favorite books and TV shows, play with her pets (if she has any, ESPECIALLY if they know tricks)....stuff like that. :D Also, if she/you would find it fun, mess with each other's hair. Braids, curlers...that sort of thing. ^_^

That's what I find the most effective--small talk that gets the other person involved. :3 Their opinions on movies, books, celebrities, music, political/religious issues... (Just STAY AWAY from the weather. o_o That's too bland and inpersonal. You want them to feel good because they can say their opinion, BUT you don't want to interrogate them. XD Be sure to give YOUR opinions, too, or it makes them feel like you're grilling them.)

That's bullshit. Don't listen to that. Go to the library. Bring a pad, a pencil, a computer, a library card, an iPod, and about ten bucks. Buy yourself a soda and a pack of skittles from the nearest store, then sit outside writing, or on KidPub, or listening to music, or reading. It calmed my life down when I figured out how to do that.

My friend at school (well, I say friend...) started swearing at me. What she didn't realize was that a teacher was standing right behind her. I don't feel sorry for her getting in trouble. She called me a f***ing b**** etc.

I'm not one for first-world-technology problems. O_e But this is serious.

My laptop's keyboard is malfunctioning. ;_; Several of they keys don't work. The light on the Caps Lock button isn't working right. And if I turn on Caps Lock on the broken keyboard OR my wireless one (which I'm using now), it types "I88888888888" and doesn't stop until I press it again. e___e

I can't type very fast on my wireless because I'm not used to it. The Backspace key is SUPER TINY. The Enter key is unreasonably big. AND I've never used the Shift key to capitalize. I always just tap the Caps Lock. x_x

Normally, I wouldn't care. But I NEED to write my book. It's one of my main lifelines. And I'm already under enough stress already. I don't need to worry about getting my keyboard fixed. x__x

e_e No, cursing won't cause an earthquake. It won't give you a horrible illness. But you know what? It's disruptive. It's disrespectful. It's severely immature. It promotes negative thinking. Using that kind of language in a public place/website is INCREDIBLY inconsiderate.

Do I ever curse? Yes, I do. It slips out when I get overemotional. I'm not perfect. But I AM trying to stop the habit. Because, in my opinion *points* cursing isn't acceptable behavior for anyone.

I swear a lot, mainly because I am surrounded by many people who swear, so I grow into the habit. I am trying to stop. I have a new method. If I think I might swear, I tell myself to imagine what the Doctor would say. And I don't like to disappoint the Doctor.

ME, she wasn't calling people who swear immature. She's says that they sound immature and/or are being immature when they curse. Please, don't get so defensive when people are stating their opinion, because it's not always going to be directed towards you. I agree that she can't stop everyone, but that doesn't mean she can't try, and that certainly doesn't mean you need to be rude about it, which was how you sounded in your response. I consider what you just said immature, and that is my opinion, so snap if you want to, but that will not phase me. It will just prove my point. And please, don't take this the wrong way. I just have no tolerance for immaturity like that.
