Default Writing software, anyone?

(I didn't really know where to put this... )

As technology has advanced, methods of writing have, too. We've gone from scribbling on notebooks and loose leaf paper to typing out lengthy novels on our devices (most of us have, anyway.) Us writers know that writing can be a very difficult and tedious process filled with plotting, writing, editing, cutting, rinse repeat. However, it doesn't have to be!

Recently I've been researching a lot of writing software - from organizational tools like Ulysses and Scrivener to powerful word processors like Microsoft Word and Apple's Pages, all in quest to find the perfect software that suits my needs.

So, what kinds of tools do you use? What has proved to be the most effective method for writing your novels?

Discuss, discuss, discuss!

Talking

Write It Now 4 is how I write my stuff. It's really useful... It lets you create character, place and event files to organize your story better, and it's really easy to navigate.

i like scrivener !! its good, you can do location maps for your settings, do character layout stuff all in one app. only downside is you get a 30 day (i think 30) trial before you have to buy it

yeah I think it is thirty days, but even after that I think it's well worth the money to buy it, it helps so much with productivity and stuff c: it's definitely my writing software of choice and has been every since I did the 30-day trial, i just love it
