Let the debate begin.

Not evil. Some of them were def total meenerfaces, but certainly not all of them. Pretty sure most of them were, for the most part, just normal students, like any Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw or Gryffindor.
The Slytherin traits are "cunning, ambition and a tendency to look after their own." Those first two traits COULD lead someone on the path to dark magic and stuffs, but it could also lead them to doing a lot of good.
*can't think of any Slytherins who did really fab things off the top of my head, but apparently Merlin was a Slytherin and i think he did good fab things?*

Agreed.
This is a big debate in my house. My sister thinks they aren't (which I agree with), and my dad thinks they are. So I just was wondering what you guys thought!

I agree with what Isaac said.
And I'm a Slytherin myself.
Any house can have a few bad students, even Gryffindor. Remember Peter Pettigrew? Yup.

Are you kidding me? Slytherins are awesome. I hated the way Rowling portrayed them, it seemed a little stereotypical.

I think Slytherins just have more potential for evil because of the stereotypes around them and the way that they're taught. I know a lot of people who would probably be Slytherins and are still some of the nicest people I've ever met. Slytherin is for cunning and ambition, not for evil. Although some are undeniably evil.
But I'm a Hufflepuff and HONEYBADGER DON'T CARE (get it? get it? honeybadger? like how Hufflepuff's house animal is a badger? hahaha I'm hilarious)

I love how you're saying that she misinterprets the characters she invented. XD

Today my friend and I were toying with house hybrids, Ravenpuff, Slytherdor, stuff like that, and she mentioned Huffleclaw. For some reason it made me think of a vicious honeybadger that's trying to kill you.
