So....I'm new to NaNoWriMo, and I (and I bet a ton of other people) have questions that you 'seniors or NNWM can answer. Please do!

My questions:
What exactly is it? I heard it was writing a book in a month....
How many words?? I also heard a really startling amount.
Why should I do this..any paticular reason, or just for the fun of it?
Other Suggestions:
Thank you guys SO MUCH!!!!!!!

YAY! I LOVE NaNo, so I'd be happy to share!

~ yep! NaNo is when you write a novel in a month -- hence the name: National Novel Writing Month
~ it's 50,000 words, so about 1,700 words per day
~ last year, I did it for the fun of of it, but it SERIOUSLY helps you -- if I hadn't done it, I would've never been able to finish my book -- it's definitely worth doing
~ if you want to know any of the NaNo lingo, just ask :P

Um, Bambi is there an age limit? Cause when I tried to sign up, it said 13 and older. I'm 11. Isn't there like a kid version or something?

Yeah, there's a kid's version. ywp.nanowrimo.org
You can set your own word goals if you want there too. Basically the same thing, but kids.

So we need 50,000 words for it to become a novel? I mean, it's not Nov. but I have like 49,000 in my book, and I looked it up online and it said 60,000, and 80,000 to 100,000. I was just wondering. But I'm going to go with 50,000.
