That weird... It's one thing if you're having an IV and going under, because the drugs could affect you if you eat. Well, my mom needed to when she was younger, but that was like twenty years ago...

I'll second the IV thing. Before I got surgery, I wasn't allowed to eat or drink anything after midnight the night before. Not even water, 'cause it could've screwed up the anesthesia. But generally I don't need to fast before getting blood work. Maybe it's a certain test that requires and empty stomach.

I didn't have an IV, and I was conscious. Unfortunately.

So lately I've become very puzzled by how large my hips are. I know it's part of, well, growing up, but my chest is as flat as can be and my waist is tiny, and then my hips are gigantic. I don't get it. ;-;

Waist - I still don't know. In proportion, not really small.
