yeah they could def be in the same year
identifies as cis male for convenience because he doesn't care much for trying to find a label that accurately describes him bc he figures if he feels okay with his pronouns then he doesn't have to think deeply about it (knows he would respond to any pronouns tho bc it doesn't make a difference to him but doesn't bother mentioning this to anyone) (ok that was longer than it needed to be i was literally figuring it out as i typed)
