it would most likely be a place where a couple guests would read a few stories and nobody would post new ones. eventually it would be so outdated that people would never go on anymore and not even bother reading as a guest

I think (and forgive me if I'm over-analyzing), you are looking very hard to see whether you are needed, whether you belong. You are searching for belonging here, on this tiny, ancient website.

Connor, I am very glad that you are here. You set things in motion and want to see more action around this site, and it's good that younger people than I am are working on that--I do not have the energy or time at my stage of life to make it happen, nor is it my place. KidPub is for kids. I love being here and I don't think I'll ever really leave, but I'm mostly here as a mentor and a guide now.

But don’t take upon yourself the work of keeping this community alive. It is a refuge, a place for kids to stretch their wings and write among strangers, to see if they 'have what it takes,' to interact with folks outside their normal world. We do not have to force it to continue to exist.

While you've been a breath of fresh air and breathed even more new life into this site, I hope that you enjoy posting and interacting with others. Do not fret about the future of the site, nor about your place in it, if you can help it.

Just be here. Enjoy the present in all its flaws and all its glories.

Yeah, I will. I won't leave until I KNOW for a FACT that KP can survive on its own, without me. And even then, I'll stay.
