Honestly, I could be wrong in saying this, but I don't think there is any other game with such a huge immersive universe.
Well, if you want to talk about immersion...
I tend to get more immersed in a game that's deep instead of wide.
Skyrim was wide and seemed to sprawl on forever, and it was done well. I'm not saying it's bad. But I was more immersed in say, Bioshock. Bioshock was much smaller, with much less freedom to do whatever. But the atmosphere was so well-crafted that I just got sucked in.
Dishonored is another game that I found more immersive because of it's rich world. It was so small, that all the character in its universe just got packed together, and it was amazing.

Well, that probably made no sense. I think I'm done ranting now. :P
Skyrim's still a good game, just not my favorite.

Most of the time, I don't even find games like Skyrim very enjoyable. Most of what I play would be, either RPG-ish/action games liek Assassin's Creed, or intense survival horror (Silent Hill). Out of interest have you ever played Dead Space? I just played it two days ago at my friend's house. It was pretty damn awesome. xD

Brief moment of fridge logic: in Fallout 3, during your player character's birthday, where did the balloons come from? I find it highly unlikely that humanity brought a couple boxes of balloons underground when they were preparing for nuclear holocaust. So where could the balloons have come from but outside, from the Wasteland?
So the balloons are really foreshadowing that their is a world outside that is livable enough to manufacture balloons (or, more likely, have them somewhere around from after the war). Which means they must have given them to Vault 101, which means the Overseer must be in contact with someone outside the Vault! Which means the Vault has been opened before! Foreshadowing!

Legend of Zelda!
When my sister plays for me in Skyward Sword, she just gets me killed. Or she goes to Skyloft and throws pumpkins in the water.
