Mary Sues/Gary Lous.

I may have a few stereotypical characters, but I add depth and try to make them un-Mary Sue/Gary Lou.

It annoys me that Mimi didn't die in RENT. She dies in La Boheme! RENT is basically a modern telling of La Boheme, so WHY THE BLUCK DIDN'T MIMI DIE?! And I have less problem with Angel being a cross-dresser because I think that Collins and Angel are adorable, but that's not true to La Boheme AT ALL. And I don't get who Joanne's parallel is.
I also don't really like RENT, so that may be coloring my judgement a bit. Even though one of my favorite stage actors played Collins in the production I saw (HE'S SO AMAZING AND I'VE SEEN HIM IN, LIKE, 20 DIFFERENT SHOWS).

Dystopian books where the heroine knows the society is wrong for no given reason.

And books where the society runs everything...now clichéd.
