Default Holidays

I was just curious how different people celebrate different holidays. Post here about what you do for holidays.

Well, I am Russian, so if my Babushka is here for Easter, she bakes raisin cake and paints eggs. I don't mean like pink or blue, I mean these elaborate designs. Easter is BIG in Russia and Ukraine. Also, they don't have trees for Christmas, they have them for New Year's.

Yes, do you live in Russia? I really want to go there; it's so beautiful. And see all the huge churches...

I skip school for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services. We don't do Sukkot at my house because none of us really knew about it (I know, bad Jews), but I go to my friends house and then to Temple where the whole school goes under a Sukkkah and stuff. We don't do Shavuot because none of us have any idea what it is. We don't do Shabbat because we're just too busy. Chanukkah is fun for us, because we read "The Latke who Couldn't Stop Screaming, A Christmas Story" by Lemony Snicket. And our dog sings. Don't ask. We don't fast on Yom Kippur because I get really bad cramps if I don't eat and they REALLY hurt. I don't eat yeast for the week of Passover.

Since KP consists mostly of Christians, most of you will have no idea what any of these are.

My family doesn't go trickortreating on halloween, but we sit and watch a movie with candy... trust me, my whole family of eight couldn't eat all the candy we bought.

Raisin cake? My family has Kulich bread on Easter, and it has raisins.

We don't really celebrate anything.
