I have thought this too. I'm not as old as some of you, but I was around when kidpub was full of awesome people that commented on everything. I want that to happen again. >.<

I remember the old KP...and then I feel old. Yeah, I can't believe my story's still on the front page and there are NO COMMENTS. I think that we just need to do things the old KP way and people will get back into it.

I feel like it's been a problem for quite a while now. I mean, even a couple years ago people weren't happy with the amount of comments, but at least then there were actually 1 or 2 comments on each piece of writing.

Yeah, it's been the same way for a while. Or maybe our idea of 'enough-comments-for-there-not-to-be-a-comment-shortage' has changed?
ALSO i remember that comments when I first joined were typically (not always, just in general--or maybe i'm remembering wrong) short and quick (like "Awesome story, I like the characters so much!!"), and personally i don't comment anymore because my standards for myself have risen and now I just feel like all my comments are not enough. like I want to say "I liked this!" but then it feels like too little of a comment. maybe that's just me i don't know q-q

Also have there been that many new members? Because I noticed that there have been new people joining, but hardly any of them are actually active once they join. Erin123, HazelHope, and um I'm sorry I'm probably forgetting people, are some of the newer members that have been active in the last week, but who else is there?
If we're not getting as many new members as before that might be a part of the reason?

I agree. It's tough when I am trying to get back into writing again and I ask for some comments and it doesn't happen. Not to be offensive or anything... but I don't have a lot of time for KP in the first place, and knowing that there isn't going to be any encouragement or more importantly criticism kinda makes me not want to waste my time tbh... soooooo idk.

Rachel (crandellr) is a newbie I know. And Lydia and Lavinia.

And I might have said this before, but I'd prefer five good CCing comments on a story than one. Everyone here would. I came here to share my writing and to get some feedback, and I don't want only half that mission done. I try to comment on a lot of stories, but sometimes I fail at that... A lot of my KPing is done late at night when I'm too tired to tell you what colors are in the rainbow. x_x

I don't want to be that noob who acts like she's been here for years and years. I haven't been. But I'd definitely love to see more comments like I do when I go through older works. Let's revive the old lots-of-comments standards! *clapping, ignoring of stares*

I agree with all of you. I think that if each of us begins reading about 2-3 stories every day and giving good CC comments, then we can encourage others to do it too and get back into old habits. And yeah, HazelHope, I understand being the newbie, but thinking about that makes me feel so old, since I was in elementary school back then lol.
