Um, hiya~
Ah, I was hoping to get a little advice from some better singers so I'd like to ask if anyone has any good tips on singing "Let It Go" from "Frozen"- I'm thinking about singing it for a talent show and the auditions are due around next week; any tips out there for an amateur singer looking to emphasize how much she loves musicals?
Thanks in advance!~

I'd hardly consider myself a "better singer" but I'll try to give some helpful advice c:
From what I've seen, Let It Go is a very difficult song. You need range, dynamics, breath support, good pitch... the list goes on. If I were you, I'd try to focus on those four up there though, specifically dynamics and breath support. Make the loud parts loud and the soft parts soft, and all the parts in between need to flow together. To nail these dynamics, you need big breaths and you need to be able to control them (straight posture helps a lot). Don't breathe in the middle of words or phrases, and when you do breathe, fill up on air. Even when you're trying to sound breathy, you need that air. Listen to pitches very carefully and try to smooth the break in your voice if you end up needing to cross it c:
And with all that said, good luck! I'm sure you'll do great!

omfg I feel amazing I just belted Brave while banging the accompaniment on the piano and I didn't bat an eye when my dad walked in on one of those Eb5's I was belting. :D

and yes i know it's not that much of an accomplishment for a belter but still I'M ALLOWED TO BE PROUD OF SINGING HALF A MILLION OF THOSE

YoooooOOOOOOOOO I LOVE THAT SONG

(I think everyone loves it)

So I've been singing it a lot lately and here's what I've gathered from my experience:

1. It requires a lot of breath support, even in the parts of the song that aren't belted or crescendo-emphasized or whatever. So like in the beginning when it's all quiet, you'll need breath support. Don't belt it but don't let it be all breathy either.

2. Make sure the high notes have a lot of support.

3. Switch from styles while singing it? That's an odd tip, but try to emphasize the drama in parts of it and the wonder, excitement, and curiosity in others.

4. Keep it simple but not too simple. Like, don't go crazy and do 3.5 billion scoops or runs or something when you're holding out a note but also don't just let the note hang.
