OKAY SO UPDATE ON TLT MUSICAL
it is incredible
even without george salazar
there were only about 8 actors in the show. they played characters as followed:
chris mccarrell: percy
izzy figueroa: grover/mr d (possibly also gabe. i'm pretty sure anyway. also more.)
ryan knowles: chiron, poseidon, hades, voice of kronos, auntie em which was really funny (most likely more)
jalynn steele: sally, selena, charon, the oracle (possibly more)
james hayden rodriguez: luke, other people
t. shyvonne stewart: clarisse, thalia (background acting in tree on half-blood hill)
kristen stokes: annabeth
i have NO IDEA who played katie. it might have been shyvonne i have no idea.
and that was it. 7 actors. nobody else. it was incredible, and the set was so minimal, so the acting really made up for it.
also the intro? incredible. simply beautiful. there was a tearaway blue curtain with the lightning bolt spray-painted onto it, and percy jumps through it on "i didn't wanna be a half-blood" and it goes away and it's amazing.
i saw it in boston, where uncle rick lives, so he might have gone to see one of the previous shows and oh my gods i've stood in the same building as rick riordan augh-

Uncle Rick, the gig is up.
I was naive to not see it coming sooner.
Trials Of Apollo so far has covered the concept,
Kane Chronicles is hinting at it vaguely enough,
And don't get me started on Magnus Chase.
This is the biggest RickFrick he's ever pulled on the fandom, and unfortunately the rather more naive of the bunch are still wading in it.
And to be honest, I love it.
Excited for the new series, Uncle Rick.

There's almost nothing better than having a book from an author you love if not take place in your state, then take place in it's neighbor state. Especially when both states are quite small and whenever the book references your state, which is hopefully quite often, you know exactly what it's talking about.
It also helps if the author lives where it takes place and knows what he's talking about.
I love Magnus Chase for that reason.

this is mostly fangirling about Percy Jackson, which I've never read (even as I write this I know there are going to be endless READ IT IMMEDIATELY replies), but I can still fangirl.
Oh, I know how to fangirl.
