Post The Homework Thread

I'm pretty sure there's nothing like this, so I thought I'd give it a shot!

This thread is for that one unavoidable aspect of school. We all have it, and we all hate it, am I right? So, what I think would be really awesome is if we all shared each others' tips on how to effectively do our homework.

To start us off, here's a few I've gathered over the years:
- Music really helps, but it can't have ANY lyrics, even if its in a different language, because your brain still processes words that is recognizes, and you end up using double the amount of energy as you would have at the start
- Isolation is also an important key. Solitude helps to keep you focused and on track because, and lets face it, a group of 5-6 friends all working on the same thing always takes like twice as long as you doing it by yourself.
- Divide and Conquer! It has been proven that 30 minute intervals of studying is the best amount of time you can spend doing so, with 45 minutes being the absolute maximum. Every 30-45 minute interval, you should take a five minute break.
- This one is more for me, because I need like a ton of caffeine to stay awake some days. Drink. Water, Milk, Soda... whatever. A drink usually gives you a little boost, more if its caffeine, that can sometimes help you along. Personally, I find that Lemon Snapple is my savior.

So, without further adieu, I give you.... *drumroll please*
THE HOMEWORK THREAD!

Well, I just power through it. :P And I make sure I'm isolated with KP/TV or anything.

My biggest tip with homework, that I'm sure we've all learned is . . . . .

DON'T PROCRASTINATE.

And other than that, I agree with everything Mr. Fantasy said in the beginning thread post.

My tip is... to mess around. Try to find out what your teachers accept and what they don't accept. A few bad grades are okay at the beginning of the year just to experiment. And once you find out what your teacher is like, you can border on edge. That's what I do for my homework when I have to write an essay. I make it very creative, but not too creative or else I get bad marks.

Sleep every chance you get!
I am SO sleep-depreived, and it affects my grades.

Not enough time in the day for school, sports, friends, homework, practicing viola, AND sleeping!

Seriously.
Now that YEP's (year end projects) are underway, it's so-so-so... tiring. Actually YEP's can be fun and interesting. But if we miss a YEP deadline... BOOM CRASH SLAM, oh look, your social life just got crushed. SO if you miss a deadline, they email your parents and you have to stay in for recess and are banned from all outside school activities till you finish.

I wish they were NOPE's sometimes. No Other Projects Ever.
