Default School Stuff

Your school. It seems so normal to you, but it others it might seem foriegn.
So here's the point of this: what is your school like? What is your daily schedule? What grades go there? Etc.
Only you know, and we all are interested in other's school experiences (I would think) because we all deal with it. (And maybe we'll end up usiong this stuff in our writing. Ya never know.)
Here's mine:
My public junior high enrolls 7th-9th graders. It runs from mid to late August to late May/early June. We go to school from 8:10 to 2:55 on Monday-Thursday, from 8:10 to 2:00 on Fridays. There's seven periods in a day, and one plus Period every day but Friday. PLus Period is an half an hour class where you have to make up failing grades; if you have passing grades there are a number of enrichment activities (like playing basketball, watching a movie etc.) you can do. It's an amusing way to spend an half hour.
So what's your school like?

I still go to elementary. Anywaaaaaaaaays....
We switch classes everyday except Wednesday, because Wednesdays are short days. There are two fifth grade classes, and twelve other fifth graders. The twelve other fifth graders split into six, one group going with one class and the other going to another class. We stay with that class for six weeks until us and that class switch classrooms with the other class.

And the twelve other fifth graders (me!) are in a classroom with fourth graders, so our teacher multi-tasks.

Is that confusing?

There's only twelve fifth graders in your school? We had over a hundred, with four classes and 25-30 students in each class! That just seems so tiny.

No, there are, like, seventy-five. There's one split class with twenty fourth graders and twelve fifth graders, then there are two classes with thirty fifth graders.

I'm in middle school with 6-8 grade. Early september to late june. 7:56 to 3:00 on all days but Tuesday, which is 7:56 to 1:30 because of an after school teacher's meeting. Minimum days are 7:56 to 12:39. 5 main periods, English, math, history, science, and PE, and an elective which is an enrichment class with stuff not included in the normal curriculum like Horticulture or Media. At the end there is Advisory, where we do our homework and get announcements. There is a Magnet program, an Honors program and a regular program. I'm in Magnet, which is basically honors except it's more accelerated and you do more stuff. Honors is a more enriching class basically and it's significantly better than regular. Regular is really bad...all the kids look like future gangsters. They cuss like at least 10 times per sentence. That's pretty much it.

This thread is so oooooooooooooold....

And yet I am replying again.

I'm going to middle school, 6-8 grade. There are 1,000 students there, and in my old private school that was K-8 only had 600. Weird...

Each hallway has a name A-Hall, B-Hall, C-Hall, all the way up to...uh...*muttermuttermutter* *sheepish grin* I heard that the lockers in G-Hall suck because it's outside and they get wet because of the rain. It's one of those outdoors schools.

The auditorium is awesome. There's an awesome stage with those velvet red curtains and lights shaped like stars. And there is one of those indoor balconies with seats in them so you can watch. It's really spectacular in that auditorium.

The instrument room is full of violins and violas. They're EVERYWHERE. Every now and then you see a rectangular case, but most of the time it's a strings case.

Um...let's see...I'm not a student there yet, so I don't know everything. I heard that some (cough RETARDEDsough) older kids call you Taylor Tots, since Taylor is the name of our school. It's really stupid...how is that bad? And there are eighth grade polls in the yearbook, like "Who's The Class Clown?" The yearbook is beautiful. It's actually hardcover and there's a theme every year. This year's theme was airplanes and travelling...

There are a bunch of events at the school. There's Respect Week, where you learn to trust your peers with exercises and stuff. There was one where you had to walk on a bunch of baseball bats held up by your classmates. And there's Pie-A-Teacher day, where you get to pie a teacher. Yeah. I can't wait to go there.
