Thank you all so much for your help! I really appreciate it.
Okay, so which is better: a 3 or 4-round writing contest where authors are slowly eliminated till there is one winner, or a single-round contest where people can submit entries to one of three categories, Poetry, Short Story or Novel Excerpt?

I think you should have categories and multiple rounds :)

Maybe we could do a three-round March writing contest instead- that way each round will have a deadline over a week. Another idea that came to me after posting my previous comment was this: why not do a single-round contest where there are three categories you can post entries in. Poetry, Short Story, and Excerpt From Novel. I tried to do this in an old contest of mine, but I never finished it.

Which do you think would be better?

By the way, thank you so much for offering to help out with the prizes!
No problem! I might be able to help with some of the drawings, but if Swallow plans on doing them I can help with some comments. :c

^^I agree with Jesse. If we could do two in one, that would be great.

You're a much better drawer than me! If you want to do the drawing, then maybe we could do them together or something?

I think that the different categories would be nice, but they should also have two or three rounds each, and different people would be in charge of judging each category, or different teams of people.

I agree with all of you guys. I think a multiple-round contest with different categories would be great. Thanks so much for the suggestions!

Btw, I know three people offered to do drawing- Cherrybomb, Mysterygirl and Swallowtail- but I don't need to just have one sketcher. You guys can all do drawing if you'd like, and can help me figure out the prizes. If you decide it's too hard and don't want to do it anymore, that's totally fine.

I guess we're all like co-partners in this contest now.

Maybe we should make a list of everyone who's helping out, figure out what we need to do and when, and then make different teams?

Hmm... that's a tough one. I would love for you to be a judge, but it would be kind of difficult if you submitted something to the contest. Could I maybe figure it out with some of the other people who are helping me with the contest?

Btw, I will be putting a post on KP in the next couple days asking if anybody else is willing to help out.
