Mathematics
So I feel like most of you are just going to look at this title, cringe, and think to yourself, "The frick is he thinking? It's summer! Math?!"
and i'm p sure this thread will be mostly dead except for me and AA BUT
But mathematics isn't just solving equations like in the math classes you have to take. There is, actually, so much room for creativity and curiosity and incredibly interesting, mindblowing things.
For example, have any of you ever read The Fault In Our Stars?
Remember that quote, "Some infinities are larger than others"?
It's true; however, the way that Hazel extrapolates it is incorrect. The infinities between 0 and 1, and 0 and 2 are actually the exact same size.
But the infinity of all natural numbers? There's an infinity larger than that: the infinite set of all rational numbers.
There's a proof for this, and it is SO mindblowing and hard to comprehend but SO SO interesting.
And there's so many more topics that aren't just cold, hard, findthevalueofx.
If you want a book to give you a bit of insight into how interesting math can be, I'd suggest Love and Math by Frenkel; I'm reading it now, and thus far it's pretty good. It's not too long—not even three hundred pages—and it's not dense or textbooky or boring. It starts with the story of how he got into mathematics, and how he had to overcome antiSemitism in Russia to get into college and eee it's super cool.
Anyone else actually like math?

Algebra is okay but I hate most math.

I really love figuring out proofs and logic problems, but not solveforxandy things. Statistics is pretty interesting too. Algebra, on the other hand... let's just say I infinitely prefer geometry.

I like math.
I now find myself pretty damn stupid, but
I like it.

I'm the complete opposite. ._. I've never understood geometry (and thus despised it), but I really like Algebra.

Algebra is amazing and the Pythagorean Theorem is the best.
They're fun, like riddles and stuff.
But word problems. *Gags*
I'm really clumsy and always do the wrong equation or formula.

I. Freaking. LOVE. Word. Problems.
They're so much more interesting than solveforx thingies.
