"Mom, I have no money. I used it all on those books at Borders!" Shayok secretly did have money, around 2,500 dollars worth, but no one knew about it. Shayok heard a text beep and responded to his friend. "Mom, I'm finished with my homework, so can I go with Tom and Sarah to the movies?"

"I get all A's!" he said, but he went back to his room and got his history essay out. "It's on the conflict between Imperial China and the nomads to the north." Shayok loved Asian history best. He had written around 3 pages more then asked.

*Nobody's the dad for now. My character could be a widow.*

Lily read over the history essay three times and pointed out several mistakes. Finally, she said, "It's good enough. You can go now. Which movie are you going to?"

Shayok shrugged. "We'll see when we get there." He got his jacket and said bye to his mom.

Lily smiled. "Gingy will come with you. Do you want me to drive you?"

"Never mind, it's fine, I'll just walk to the library." They had Rock Band there anyways.

"You know what? I'm up for the movies too," Erin commented as she wrapped a band-aid around her finger. "My homework's all done, Ma."

If there was one sibling she actually liked, it was Gingy. Gingy, being the second youngest, got most of the slack, which was a relief for Erin.
