That depends on what you mean by "first book". XD There's several books that are prequels to the actual Animorphs series, including a few that explain Elfangor's whole story. (*sobs* IT'S SO SAD! DX Tobias...aaaaaahhhhh....) But if you want to just read the series from its original beginning, then you'd want to read #1: The Invasion. Yeah, I meant from the original beginning because I am going to the library today and I'm interested in forming animals and creatures and stuff. o.o Ooooh, we should read it together and flail together! 8D I'll probably read the prequels after I have read the whole series. ^_^ I am guessing that the series is quite long. :P

....Yeahhhh, if you think 54 individual books (not counting bonus stories and prequels) is LONG, then, yes, it's very long. XD

(But if you have a high reading level, then, it won't take very long to read.)
