DO NOT SING ON MY OWN FOR AN AUDITION FOR CATHY
Not only because of what Lizzie said (On My Own is SUPER overdone and you'll be dismissed pretty much immediately), but also because Cathy is a soprano/mezzo part and On My Own is an alto song. They'll want to see whether or not you can sing Cathy's notes, and On My Own doesn't hit any of those. I'd suggest something like Out of the Blue from The Wild Party or Pretty Funny from Dogfight. You'll probably want to do a more contemporary song because it's a contemporary musical, but even something like Till There Was You from The Music Man or You've Got Possibilities from It's a Bird... It's a Plane... It's Superman would be good audition songs for Cathy. If you know the show you know that you'll need a good mixed voice or even a belt in the higher soprano ranges, so if you REALLY want to impress you could do Everybody Loves Louis from Sunday In The Park With George, but that's really hard and requires really good vocal technique.
