I remember doing that at some point...a while back...I feel like even less people know who I am now, even though it's a much smaller community.

that's all very sad. The thing is there is such a huge age gap, you have the 11 year old newbies and the 14+ oldies and it's just hard to communicate between the two generations you know? Oldies think newbies are intolerable and newbies think oldies are distant (?)
and the reason less people know you is because the people who did left and the people who joined didn't bother so. i think we all feel that to some degree.
