So a few months ago I found this instagram page and I was suspicious since he had the same name as my crush. And then today I did some more research on my *only* guy friend's page and he tagged the dude in a few posts. So its him. But his page's on private and I'm not sure if I should follow him. Would that be too suggestive, requesting a follow? He might not even know it's me.

Just follow him, and if he asks who you are, say "Oh, I'm just finding everyone I know and following them!" This has been done to me on several occasions, and I later found out the person had a bit of a crush (due to an unrelated series of events)

Just follow him! Most people wouldn't think of it as a big deal at all, in fact most people I know would accept a follow request from complete strangers anyway.
