I'm a beginner, please teach me how to make better book covers!
I am not that good at making book covers. Some that I made for myself are in my album. I want to be able to do better book covers. I can't even do animals or people yet! So if you would please explain to me or put a link to an already made explanation in the comments that would be great. Thanks!

I use Picmonkey. Find a picture you want to use for the background, find more pictures and add them as overlays. Go to Dafont, find a font, take a screenshot of it (or download it if you want, I don't because I'm lazy and I just make them to fun). Add the font as an overlay, click it, and use the drop down menu to make it transparent. Make sure it contrasts from whatever's behind it. Simple covers usually look the cleanest.
And always crop the background picture so it's in the shape of a book :)

For more advanced book-cover makers, you should download Gimp. It's a free photo-editing software like Photoshop except it's a bit simpler. It's great if you need, say, a person, but they're not in the correct background that you need for the book cover.
Pixlr.com is great for book covers also.
I hope this helped!

I use GIMP. It's free, and great. It's a little confusing at first and it takes a while to get the hang of, but after you get the hang of it you can do a lot that you can do with Photoshop too. You can blend images, cut one image from a picture and replace it in another image, add font, special effects, etc. I suggest downloading it and then searching tutorials for it so you can get the hang of all the different tools.

We used GIMP in school and I totally agree. GIMP is really good and a lot like Photoshop. It can be a little hard to understand when you first get it, but it's easy to pick up on.
Also, if you're on a Mac, you could download Sketchbook Express from the App Store. It's extremely easy to use, and even though it is not as complex as GIMP or Photoshop, it is very useful. Digital art is really easy on it. :3

Be strong my weary wolf, turn around boldly.
Fly high, my baby bird, my angel, my only.
