Default The Kidpumpkin Hallowrite Extravaganza!

I couldn't think of a title just go with it ok

Writing contests are fun. They're also *usually* unsuccessful. But I'll persist
You have until October 31st to submit a horror-related or Halloween-related poem collection, short story, or novel except.

For a poem collection: post three poems that are related to horror or Halloween and link them on this thread. These can be as long as you like, but don't do less than three. (Keep in mind that extremely simple poems can be difficult to evaluate.)

For a short story: write the best, spookiest story you possibly can and link it on this thread. There's no word limit, but *try* to keep it under 10,000 words.

For a novel/novel excerpt: you do not have to write an entire novel (though nothing's stopping you if you did). I'm expecting 8,000+ words for this category that shows expert plot development and characterization. Honestly, I'm not expecting this category to be very popular, but there are some people on here who are godlike and can churn out novels in a weekend :p

Other Things -
- have fun?
- if I get a *ton* of entries that I don't think I can properly critique and read within a month, I might ask for another judge. I don't think this will happen but you never know.
- I'll try to comment on every entry!
- you can enter more than once!
- dark stuff is cool.
- dark humor is also cool.
- make it as amazing as humanly possible
- edit!
- edit x2!

Prizes:
It's kind of hard to give out prizes over the internet, but I think these are somewhat worthwhile
- reader's choice: on October 31st, I'll post a poll with all the entries. Kidpubbers will be able to vote for their favorites and after a week, the poll will close. The winner of this will receive the same things as a gold prize winner.
- gold prize: fame and glory, infinite comments on whatever you like, book reviews, a link to your entry AND a story of your choice in my bio forever. Literally whatever you want. I have the time :p
- silver prize: fame and glory, 5 in-depth comments on whatever you like, a book review, a link to your entry in my bio forever.
- honorable mentions: fame and glory, a link to your entry in my bio forever, a book review -OR- three in-depth comments.
Depending on how many entries there are, I could pick anywhere from one to five winners for gold, silver, or the honorable mention category.

I really can't predict how many people will enter, but I'm aiming for 10-15 entries (more would be cool). My last contest, which was from a year ago, got around eight entries in two weeks so I think this is manageable? :-)

Oh and please link your submission to this thread--it's hard to find an entry if it's just titled "For Jesse's Contest" or something similar.

Any questions, put them down below!
Happy writing

Yeah that's fine, but you should have three in all (they don't have to be related)

it doesn't really matter so long as there's three in the end :)
