Default Death Days

The Grim Reaper, also known as Death, is not as you think he is. He is believed to collect and harvest the souls of humans; maybe sometimes innocent humans. However, in this world, the Grim Reaper collects the souls of demons and is a sworn protector of humans. He is often seen in public as a menacing spectre, but in truth, he protects humans.

On a typical night, Vincent, a high school student who just got out of detention is walking on his way home. A demonic beast then appears from no where and starts to chase him. He then finds himself in a dead end of an alley. He guesses his life is doomed until a large hooded spectre, weilding a scythe saves him. But then, another beast shows up and ravages the "thing". In a series of events, the second beast is destroyed and Vincent un-masks the spectre. The spectre tells Vincent that he is the Grim Reaper but most of his power was destroyed by the beast. Before the Grim Reaper dies, he transfers all his remaining power into Vincent without even thinking about it.

Heck yes it sounds interesting :DDDD Is the time between when the Grim Reaper is attacked and when the second beast is destroyed very long? Though I'm guessing the second beast is part of a plan or something, it seems like the Grim Reaper would be stronger/harder to defeat. :P

In the second paragraph, it all happens in the beginning. :P

That sounds very original and well thought out. My only complaint is that it happens within the first page of the novel. Whenever I start a new book I always introduce my major characters and the setting before I let the action happen. But it still sounds really good.

You could do the whole first part as a prologue. Anyway, awesome story!

Well, I don't mean to be a know-it-all but a prologue is actually the first chapter that is indirectly related to the main story line.
