We're doing Seussical from the 8th grade musical. I'm auditioning for Mayzie.
You know what musical I like? I like Spring Awakening. Except for the creepy parts (cough cough My Junk and I Believe cough cough). AND I managed to get The Dark I Know Well (legit the creepiest song ever) stuck in my friend's head.

My friend's school is doing Seussical... My school is doing Oklahoma. Except they took out the part where Jud tries to kill Curly and lands on his own knife and dies. Instead Curly punches Jud in the face and he gets knocked out. XD

Phantom of the Opera will always be my favorite, but I also do like Chicago, Hairspray, anything Disney (I was in an unprofessional version of Mulan once...) and Godspell, which I saw recently with my best buddies. I think my favorite song in Godspell was By My Side. Either that or that particularly jazzy number from Act Two. Finale sort of scared me, I will admit. It was intense.

But, yeah. Those are my favorite musicals. Oh, I also like Love Never Dies (the sequel to PotO), although something about it will just never be able to match the original. Although the last scene brought tears to my eyes.

I have a newfound obsession with Spring Awakening. I love it so much. And it's really frustrating, because NOBODY I know knows ANYTHING about the musical (well, except for my friend, who has only read the synopsis and listened to the creepiest song [I sent it to her, we have this ongoing thing where we one-up each other with creepy songs, currently I'm winning], and one who only knows the title of one song)!
I've listened to the soundtrack SO MANY TIMES but I just can't get enough because it's so amazing!

Creepy songs? Sounds like my kind of musical.

I'm not sure we're talking about the same kind of creepy, but here's the link to the song. I know it by heart. If I were going to audition for SA, I would audition for Martha (she sings first). Only because I wouldn't be able to audition for Ernst, as it's a male role and it wouldn't make ANY sense if he were to be played by a girl. Even though I would be a perfect Ernst.
Spring Awakening makes my life. Actually, no, Hanschen Rilow, a character in Spring Awakening, makes my life.
