Yeah, it's a long book because it's this quest where they have to travel a lot, and very far. I've never even written anything fifty pages, because this is my first novel, before I've always wrote short stories (like writing prompts in class) but I always excelled so I decided to write a book after I got this awesome idea!

I'm guessing you mean the idea? And yes, I will often struggle on many different plots. For instance: the novel I'm writing now, Incorgnia, is a fantasy novel where these kids get sucked into this alternate world. That is the third idea. The first was that he runs away from home and finds adventure in the woods, the second was a 'Jumper' fan fiction (the movie/book) and had this kid find out he could teleport. And then I landed on this one. When I did finally land on this idea, I wrote several first drafts of the first chapter. I am on my fifth I believe, and this will be the final one.
As for the overall story and plot itself, once I have finalized the idea I had and settled in on what it will be about, I will come up with the plot structure and all the details, do this a couple of times 'till I settle on one and finally write it all the way through.
The one I am working on is the only one I was fully confident in enough to start writing the final chapters, so now I am. All my other work is in 'Pre-Production' if you will, kind of like on a movie.

Phew, long post!
