I'm planning a new book, and it's a man vs. society conflict. c: I'm actually really excited to write it. The POV character, Rowan, is the main character, but not the protagonist; this incredibly sexy guy called Jarvier is, but he's sorta/kinda/idek the antagonist. Well, the society is the antagonist, but that's not really clear until the end. Idek. The protagonist is the person that drives the plot, and that person is Jarvier, and the antagonist is the person or thing that opposes the plot, and that's the society. And then Rowan gets thrown in there as a very confused main character trying to make sense of it. I'm trying to make this a lil' like the movie V for Vendetta basing it off of that theme and such, also similar to Mistborn's but urban fantasy, not dystopian or epic fantasy.

endofrantything (more to come soon)

My story doesn't really have a main antagonist in the traditional sense. I based my novel structure primarily off George R.R. Martin's A song of Ice and Fire series, so none of them essentially lean towards a good or bad side, they're all gray characters. In fact, all of them are antagonists in some way towards each other. From the viewpoint of my main protagonist though, there are possibly two characters who stand as the opposing forces of the story. One is a maintenance man who goes insane and now has complete control over the facility, giving him access to every single room and camera. He often deters the characters in a seemingly random fashion with no hint of motivation or pattern. The other one is a Special Operations Serjeant who often forgoes his duty to protect the people in order to save his wife. His struggle between duty and marriage is often detrimental to my main character's actions, and his determination, strength and firepower make him a considerable adversary on the battlefield.

A pair of main antagonists in my manga...
Well, they sort of become protagonists later.
Sort of.
One has some rather complicated shit going on
And the other...
Heel-Face Revolving Door to the max
they'll probably both end up dead

Sin Game is just some crazy messed-up shit.
All the characters have some issues.

No Escape so far has the narrator character, who as of yet has no appearance or name. It's a male character, but I don't think I even firmly established that. Doesn't really matter though. His version of binary views consists of (me) (not me) and he has no qualms stepping out of "legality" and "morality". I'm still not sure what's going on here, but there's some crazy gray-zone shit going on and I am already deeply attached but I might kill this character, too. Who knows. Main character, none other so far. I wonder where this'll go?

“To announce our contestants for today’s first match is Cassandra D’elia.”

I had heard the name a few times before, in the bus on the way here, but only in hushed voices. As I wondered if I had seen her before, every person in the auditorium suddenly spun around to look at me. My stomach curdled and I looked around me at James and the twins. Thankfully, they weren't actually staring at me. They were staring behind me.

I turned, and locked eyes- or I assumed I did- with a pale woman in a white dress. I couldn't really know if we were making eye contact, as her eyes were hidden behind a pair of dark goggles. No, not sunglasses, goggles. They formed a tunnel from her eyes to the lenses’ ominous black circles, connected by a straight bar across the bridge of her nose. I didn't want to make a judgement at first sight, and I certainly wasn't about to dub a lady I had just met as evil, but- well, the goggles were scary as hell. And that was just the start of it. Her perfect lips were shiny red, and slightly parted to show two perfect white teeth, and below that was an annoyingly perfect body. Once you got past the effects of her push up bra on her rather large breasts, there was the perfect curve towards her spine where normal people have a belly, and then there were her long slender legs, ending in two perfect feet in a pair of stiletto boots. And that was all good and fine, that's not why she scared me. I have nothing against beautiful women. What got to me were the fingernails. Around the same length as the fingers that bore them, and painted the same shade as her lips, they hung by her sides with a casual menace.

As I said, I couldn't actually see her eyes, but there was no doubt in my mind that behind those dark goggles were two perfect eyes, staring right into mine.
