If I have anything to contribute to this, I live in Ontario and there is a LOT of tension between Aboriginals and whites/those of European descent. There is no dominant race, it's just whichever one happens to be the minority in any place is looked down upon. I was invited to Aboriginal day (by my school, which was strange because I'm not even in the Native Language classes) and as soon as I stepped on the bus, I knew it was going to be awkward. I'm Nordic, so with blonde hair, light eyes and pale skin I felt really out of place and the native kids were making comments to me like, "Aghagh... too bright... I cant look at her" "You're white, you lead the way!" and "I can't look at her without sunglasses!" along with "Get out of our group, you're too white" (jokingly).

:^/

There aren't too many black people here in Ontario, not as many as there are Aboriginals and white people. So most of the racial tension is spent on these two and black people can just kind of slip under the radar because there aren't many stereotypes for them up here.

Do you know what stinks? To get into really good, Ivy League colleges, Asians have to have higher scores than whites and African Americans can have lower scores than whites! That really stinks for us Asians, because we have to work REALLY hard. I'm luckier than most since I'm half-Asian so I can just put that I"m white.
