another Joey snippet

"Joey, wake up!"
She threw open the door to his room. Like always, he wasn't there. He was probably curled up on the couch, surrounded with feathers. This happened every morning, and Joey either woke up hours before Rebecca, or around lunchtime.
Today seemed to be an early bird day. He was outside with his 'dragons,' so he said, but Rebecca had her doubts. Chances were, they were just hallucinations, based off of how vividly he described them, and he certainly wasn't in control. She hated how often he would see them. They would get in the way of almost everything, and he would often stop and stare.
Working in a mental hospital, she knew something was wrong with Joey, from all too much experience. She hated it. Working with people whose minds weren't quite right was hard enough, then came along the fact that her boyfriend was also probably one of those people.
