The words echoed around my plugged ears, despite my fingers desperately trying to block the noise.
I was crying.
"Cry harder, Weepy Willow. Wah-wah!" Jose mocks me.
I stand up on my own two feet, next to the two teardrops on the concrete.
"What pleasure do you get out of this?" I scold Jose and his 4 friends.
"The pleasure that you're weak, Weepy Willow."
"Stop calling me Weepy Willow!"
With no emotion in his voice, Jose said, "I will call you Weepy Willow until next year, which is 8th grade. Now, get her!"
I ran away as fast as I could.
I didn't even know where I was going.
My feet, carrying their own beat, pounded on the ground, followed by the thumping sound of other feet running.
Oh, please, I think. I can't be overpowered. Not yet!
My eyes then spot an alleyway.
Out of my school zone.
A new world. But only to me, it seems.
I make a quick swift, so quick Joe's friends don't notice me.
"Hello?" I yell as soon as I get into the alleyway. "Anyone theeere?"
Suddenly, someone passes by me. Like a shadow.
"I know you're there," I say. "Reveal yourself! Now!"
I suddenly feel more unsafe than I am with Jose.
I feel my back starting to tingle.
Almost immediately, a voice says, "Hello, Willow. Welcome to...a place I don't even know."
I ask-yell, "Who are you and why do you know my name?"
The voice replies, "Again, I don't know who I am...but I do know who you are. I know you are bullied. I know it is hard for you."
My voice trembling, I say, "Y-yes...that's exactly how I f-feel."
The voice continues on, "Well, Willow, I can help you through your struggles. Take this-"
I then exclaim, "What is your name?"
There's silence for a few seconds.
Finally, the voice says, "Lili."
The item drops from the sky, undamaged.
I wrap my hands over it.
Light flashes all around me.
And before I know it, I am gone.
