Margie sat on her bed thinking for a while, about Leena, George, the Mirror, and of course, the science fair.
“What should I do?” Margie asked the mirror as she picked it up.
Listen to George.
“Why should I listen to George?” Margie asked again.
Because he has a plan.
Margie smiled at the mirror and placed it back on the wall, and got out her phone.
A Day Later……..
“So, what’s your plan?” Margie asked Georgie as they sat outside in the backyard.
“I was going to ask you first if you wanted to team up for the science fair.” Answered George, who was sitting on a rock by the tire swing.
“Sure!” Margie said excitedly.
“Now, what’s going on?” George asked in his serious tone of voice.
“About what?” Margie asked, even though she knew what he meant.
“Between you and Leena.” Georgie said softly.
“Honestly, I don’t know.” Margie answered worriedly, as she slowly swung back and forth on the tire.
“Can you tell me what Leena meant the other day? I mean, about some mirror.” George asked, while looking up at the sky.
“You will think I’m crazy.” Margie answered reluctantly.
“Please.” He said earnestly, and gave Margie a soft and warm smile.
“When I was little, I visited a store on my birthday, and I got a mirror. And know, it’s…..” Margie then stopped.
“It’s…..speaking to me.” Margie answered, then blushed.
“Really?” George asked, surprised at what Margie said.
“Can I see this mirror?” George asked.
“Yes, but only it’s owner can see it's magic.” Margie replied.
“Wait. I have an idea! What if we can get the mirror to show it’s magic to other people? Then we can show it for the science fair!” George announced happily.
“That’s a great idea! But, I’m not sure if it’ll work.” Marge said sadly.
“It will! All you have to do is persuade it to show it’s magically abilities for one day.” George replied reassuringly.
“Ok. Thanks George.” Margie thanked him with a smile.
9:00 pm at night………
“Mirror, can you tell me what’s wrong with Leena?” Margie asked with a yawn as she crawled into her bed.
Maybe you should ask Leena.
“Why can’t you tell me?” Margie asked.
You need to be brave.
“Ok, well…godnight mirror.” Margie said and then turned off the lights.
