Missing You

Missing you is like missing the sea

Like going cliff diving, but hitting the sand

It’s like phantom pain for an amputee

Because missing you is like missing a hand

Missing you is like missing the shore

And hitting the rocks, and being shipwrecked alone

And now I’m a puddle on the bathroom floor

Missing you, I feel like I’m missing my bones

Missing you is like missing my guts

Like under my shirt’s just a gaping hole

You took out my heart with surgical cuts

Missing you is like missing my soul

And baby, I miss you like a book I can’t find

Like I swear I just saw it, right here on this shelf

And I feel like I’m losing my own fucking mind

Because missing you is like missing myself
