...I wanted to publish these for the first time alongside their accompanying melodies/piano pieces, but I haven't managed to record those, and anyway I wouldn't know how to put them on here.

To explain:

I'm writing two super wierd tabletop games called Presentiment and Parable. I have many wonderful characters in this world, and I have written some of their theme songs. I don't know if I will find a way to make these games generally playable (text-based platform in the future?) But perhaps I ought to warn you about spoilers anyway.

Without further ado:

Verily, I’m Chance!

“Verily, I’m Chance,

A caller in this dance called existence that I love so well

While I with my brother and sister still dwell,

Raising up my nephew.

I can have no child,

And thou art strange and wild,

But the father of thy soul I’ll be,

Unless all thy goodness should fly far from thee!”

David Corona

“When I was young, I was rarely reprimanded—

For when I was born,

Winter Solstice morn,

Eldest son by only moments, I was open-handed.

I have a son,

Yes, only one-

Right as I am, he’ll be righter,

Bright as Chance is, he’ll be brighter.

In his future, I see naught but hope!”

The Raymonds

This man here is about

To give up this bout!

Say, “Breathe it in, breathe it out!

Don’t leave room for any doubt!”

Every chance

We advance

In this dance

By our rants

During which we

Breathe it in, breathe it out!

Don’t leave room for any doubt!

O Gladsome Light of the Holy Glory of the Immortal Father!

We breathe it in, breathe it out!

Don’t leave room for doubt!

Though this man can see

Low reality…

Breathe it in, breathe it out!

Don’t leave room for doubt…

“Lost my breath. Lost my bout.

Only room for doubt.”

I Am A Dreamer

Every chance

I advance

In this dance

By my rants

During which I

Breathe it in and breathe it out, and then

I rave to him about it

With a fiery desire that cannot be doubted.

Hello, there.

Do beware,

For I want to be real,

So I appeal—

Don’t you feel

Like a deal?

No? Then your doom’s sealed.

I am a dreamer of good dreams of peace ‘tween lamb and lion,

But if Red is dead, instead I’m just an unstable ion.

But I don’t give up. I always give to.

Everything I have is really for you.

I will not give up. I will give to you.

I will give to you.

I will give to you.

This desire is a fire that will make me a liar—

But look higher!

Breathing in and breathing out, I start

To turn this heart toward what’s true.

I’ve a sweet seat on the Council, I’m a Stewardess for you.

(note: almost entirely appropriated from the Orthodox "O Gladsome Light")

O, Gladsome Light of the Holy Glory of the Immortal Father!

Heavenly, Holy, Blessed, O Jesus Christ!

Now that we have come to the setting of the sun

And behold the light of evening we praise God,

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!

…You can tell me I speak nonsense,

But I swear every word is the truth.

I stand. I sing. I hope, I dream of love, for I

Never meant to be, but I am.

I hear. I take a hit and break. Her hate is strong:

Though she wants me gone, still I am.

He’s here! He’s home, as strong as stone. He loves, and so

Though I never meant to be, I…

Though I do not want to be…

Love’s the reason why I still am.

I don’t have to be, but I will!

Ivan Keys

I would grow tall if I could,

Taller than the oaks ever would.

I’d protect your brains with brawn.

How was I to know that I’d be gone?

Don’t give up now, don’t you dare give up now.

Chin up, baby brother, Hope is coming back.

Strange how much it hurts to lack just one thing.

Don’t give up now, don’t you dare give up now.

You’ve got friends around you not ten feet away.

Who is this who shines like day…?

Don’t give up now, don’t you dare give up now.

I don’t know quite how, but you are very real,

True, and good, more real than me…

You will be alright. You’ll see!

Tara Lynn Rose

I breathe free,

But I feel and see

Something’s lost that should be there.

I am fine,

Though my hopes incline

Toward the reasons I care.

People I should see

Seem to number three—

(One man, two kids.)

Hold the phone,

For I’m not alone.

Hope is in the air!

Chance Remaineth

I am quite alone,

For I cannot condone

David’s choice to flee and to forget!

Though I love him still, shan’t untangle his net.

Wherefore would he do this…?

I know thou art real.

No bells shall therefore peal,

But thy power shall swell, and swell and swell

‘Til thou canst make all manner of thing be well.

Mister David

What have I lost?

Oh, what could I have forgotten?

How I miss my wife!

How I miss that life!

How I miss my magic-no, my power’s only rotten.

So I’ll forget what I regret.

Leave me, light of healing golden

Force benign from era olden.

I will face all problems but my own.

Consequence the Man

Consequence! Consequence!

Such a pretty name for something

Fearsome! Fearsome

As a lion roaring by my ear.

Consequence, Consequence,

Young and old and strange and malleable and

Blessedly, blessedly

Consistent in existing here.

Don’t let go. I will never leave you.

No, I cannot deceive you!
