You may have found I don't make promises
Living a life, but without compromises
And though I have very few regrets,
Sometimes I wish I did

I don't really make many promises,
Because I don't think I'll keep 'em
Living a life, but with compromises,
Is not a way to see them

I rarely, if ever, make a promise,
Because it just seems unfair
To live your life, stuck with a compromise
That can't be resolved with a prayer

So now you know my lake of promises, 
Living a life with few compromises
And I barely have any regrets at all,
And quite frankly, I'm not feeling small.

This is a great poem! 

I don't like to make promises for the same reasons.

Thanks! It just came to me,

Thanks! It just came to me, so I wrote it down. It isn't a vent or anything, I just came up with it, so the next logical thing was to write it. 

 

Don't worry. It's okay. You're alive, I'm alive, and life is good. And remember, have a good day!

If I promised, i’d
If I promised, i’d never keep it
I can never keep a secret
If i was asked to take something, i’d leave it
and I can never commit
