Temporary Insanity

The man sat up. There was a voice from the door.
"Hello?"
Of course, the only correct thing to do would be to say hello back.
"Hello."
The voice replied with a 'Hello' back.
How strange.
He got out of bed and opened the door. Nothing there. But that wasn't very unrealistic. The person could have went upstairs. Well, if there was an upstairs, at least. Wait, was someone else at his house? Shrugging, he took the stairs down to the kitchen to get something to eat. He saw what must have been the voice. It was a puffy cloud of dark energy, but next to it, there was a person. He was his best friend.
"Hi, Thomas!"
But Thomas didn't reply. He turned around. Blood coming out of his eyelids, and a little bit coming out from a mouth full of bloody, very sharp teeth.
"WhY dId yOu dO tHaT tO mE?" he asked in a raspy tone.
"Why'd I do what?"
"KiLl mE"
He remembered when he and Thomas had been drinking a bunch, and then stumbled outside to have a hangover. When he had woken up the next morning, somehow not arrested, he noticed that Thomas had become deathly pale and his heartbeat had stopped entirely.
"Uh..."
He remembered yesterday, when he had insulted someone. He then heard them chant some weird other language, and pass out.
It must have been an insanity curse.
He screamed.
